Exterior Paint

I find the paint on my 2010 Lexus RX350 to be very thin and easily marked. Is this a common complaint and is there anything that can be done to obtain greater protection? I paid my dealer approx $800. for a protective coating when I purchased the vehicle but it was a waste of money.

I would definitely suggest put a good couple coats of wax on it. There is lots of different products out there but I have always liked Mothers wax. You should notice that putting a couple layers on, after you get some scratches and marks that they will buff out instead of marking the clear coat.
